You should ALWAYS alternate pick. You'll never go anywhere using only downstrokes. Dave doesnt alternate pick too often, but trust me, he's an exception. Playing just about anyone other than DMB, make a conscious effort to alternate between picking up/down.Smaegol wrote:THanks for all the help.. you're right I was just getting ahead of myself. do you do it all in a downward motion or do you pick down-up-down? I am in the habit of trying to always pick down all the time, and Im sure thats a bad habit...
Man, with this new Les Paul, the first thing I did was turn up the amp and just jam the hell out of LIOG. God that is so fun to play....
