It is my favorite song and just sums up so many times in my life. and i have a couple over-riffs that i play with it using the DD6 to make it crazy good.
yeah, "over-riff" is a word. i made it up.
When I first saw Dave play the Stone on the Listener supported video, I was like Wow, look at his fretting hand!! holy shit! I thought to myself how cool it would be to be able to play like that.
Then later on I saw him play it on the Charlie Rose Show. I was blown away so much it was like discovering Jesus (ok bad exageration sp?) but then I decided to learn the song, so practicing it non-stop for months on end, I eventually was able to play it. It's my favorite Dave song. period.
So what do you think of the stone, Mr. Lennon?
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away

Don't know the date on Charlie Rose, but I'm guessing it's his Chet.

the song gives me chills everytime i hear it.....its a song that NEVER ceases to amaze me....the whole song is just 100% music...there was no slacking when it came to the music or the lyrics.
this is what dave is all about
not like those other bands, especially fad bands like punk or boy bands....i have never heard a lyric in A song that sounded relatively intelligent in any of their songs....its amazing how people can enjoy stuff like that.
anyways
my favorite part of the stone is the "wise men say" ending
such a spectacular ending to a spectacular song
to quote will ferrel
"i cannot think of a word to describe its greatness thus i am forced to make one up right now. Scrumtrulessant!"

Either the DM3MD or the D-28 he played before he got the DM3MD....if it's late '99...wasn't it October? If so, it was the DM3MD.
