He's getting older...just listen to his voice from '93 to now........older and deeper...not much he can do about that. I will tell you one thing...his fav vices.....which are bourbon, cigs, and pot.....don't help hitting those notes AT ALL

Also, I think he has a phlegm problem, nowadays he's always talking about how hes got some phlegm stuck in his throat (see 3-25-03 and Benaroya hall) Maybe he has an allergy problem that he needs to get worked out.

Wow...listen to all of you. Dave's Farmaid show was great. Who here has ever seen an accoustic Too Much??? That was great...plus he jammed a couple of new songs...what's wrong w/ that? Seriously...a crowd of 100,000 people doesn't even fade him. It's a joke to him...everone needs to chill out. He jams a couple of tunes on PBS and everyone freaks about his throat sounds broken...like he's losin' it??? You guys are missin' the point. Everyone of us gathered around the TV on thanksgiving night to see Diver Daver Haha..................

What...did the band play it and fuck it up?
Maybe I should rephrase...I have never seen an acoustic Too Much, it was sweet.

The rest of the show was too...Dave sounded great.

More rephrasing...I'm not trying to be a dick...I had never heard an accoustic Too Much...it sounded great...as did the rest of the show(that Dave played). He sounded good...this is all I'm trying to say, others were saying he's losing a step, I was disagreeing.

I think Dave sounds great now. His voice has matured thats for sure, but it sounds stronger and i think more emotional. If you all are that concerned about him still being able to hit the high notes, just wait till the tour this month. Let him playing "Some Devil" be the judge of that.

i think his voice is better as well. gotten much cleaner (even though its gravely, its cleaner). like he really learned to sing. also, some devil is summed up in one word: falsetto. the whole cd. maybe he's not hitting the notes live but hey, who can at the end of a 3 hour show?

i think you're missing the point man. we're not saying that dave sucks now or anything. just that he's losing his falsetto slowly. which i think is because of the screams and just age.

but i do have to say, have you guys heard the 3-29-03 show? he still has it, he just definetly has to be on. his falsettos in that show were phenominal. absoluetly awesome and dead on like he was a 20 year old again. i can't believe they didn't put some songs from that show on the bonus cd cause he was on. and he did the falsetto scream after the regular scream on grey street. i haven't heard him do that in a while. two step was on of the last songs in the concert and he was still hitting falsettos like it was the first song. i guess dave just has to be on liek any of the rest of us. he's just not on as much anymore.

but like i said earlier, i think i like the hardcore yells better anyway. i love it when he takes a step back from the mic and just goes for it. it's awesome. :D ie, did you hear when at central park when he yelled home in DDTW instead of doing it in falsetto. awesome, gave me chill bumps.

no one answered my question... is there a reason he plays this show by himself?
