So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

I've listened to it a few times...does it have words? it really sounds angry...I have a hard to portraying anger with the acoustic...it just doesn't seem to work for me...I have one quasi-angry acoustic song that sounds way angrier on electric...my song is gay compared to this...it's like...lalala, girlies suck, I'm going cry, lalala...yeah, w/e, if I decide it's worth finishing I'll record it and post it...

i find that im the only one of all my guitar friends that plays as loud and as hard as i do. i think it comes from learning how to play on a guitar where the action was less then desirable. I also wrote a lot of my best songs at times where i was hurt the most... or at my happiest.

<a href="http://www.delvedesigns.com/jon/seeingyou.mp3">Seeing You</a> was written at one of my happiest.

I remember you saying that you try to write based on images or something along that lines, you try to describe how you would feel with music or something along those lines and that song really jumped out at me as that. Very cool!

tis true indeed...and I've got the music all done to a song now that is completely about this...just needs a bit of structure and I need to put all the words spinning around my heads into a clever little thing. Gotta love simple songs...the open nature of the acoustic guitar makes them sound good... :)

As indifferent as I am to his poetry, I find Wordsworth's "advice" to be quite significant, useful and find that it tends to be very effective.

You write during a state of tranquility. Now, whether or not you need substances to alter your mind in order to do this can vary from person to person (no doubt back in the 1800's a great deal of opium, amongst other things offered a helping hand). But the best poetry is not written at the time an event you wish to write about happens. You cannot be in a completely tranquil state of mind. Rather, the best writing happens well after the event you wish to write about has occurred. Your greatest poetry (according to him, although this applies to music as well) will be discoered when you reflect on the event after it has happened.

Hang tough, everything will be fine. Girls can suck. And so can guys. The truth is, we're all assholes in our own way.
"There must come a day... when the unfinished work of our heroes, must truly be our own."

ow.
good luck.
perhaps jamming the crap out of halloween would help....
then again you might just wanna throw a chair through a window (although that route is a bit more expensive)
you'll get better, and theres nothing else i can tell you 'cause you dont wanna hear it. i know, ive been there.
just let yourself get back into music. it can help.
