So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

I Don't find it hard. It's easier than the Streches on #41. There really isn't much aof a stretch, you just have to hit the bottom 2 strings with your middle finger.

Code: Select all
--x----x--
--x----3--
--4----0--
--5----4--
--7----5---
--x----x--
Try skipping that b string 8th altogether; leaving it out keeps that chord manageable and I think it sounds better anyway without the jangly high note (or maybe I'm just telling myself that since it gives me trouble too). Also on the next chord leaving the open g in there makes for a nice sound; maybe not every time but try it at the end of a verse...

Same here. Having long-ass monkey fingers like me helps. I actually like to play this chord now...

IMO the streches in Captain are much worse then the stretches in #41, but both still aren't that bad.

I think the worst stretches I have ever tried of Dave's, are the chords to the chorus of People, People.... Those are bastards!!

Just want to say, is no guitar in People, People. It's Peter Griesar's song: Peter on keys, Dave on vocals, Leroi on sax, and Carter on drums.
Now, the point of saying that. Anyway of playing the song for a guitar version is correct. I bet the tab you are using you can move it around to something easier, since there is no set guitar part.
Also, can I see the tab you use, so I can see the stretch you are talking about, I'm curious.

check out this chord. I play it for a chorus of a song of mine, Hold My Life Hold My Soul. This hurt for a while, til I got used to it.
x-5-7-9-10-x

Stacking 5ths is fun.
