So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Well, just want to set the record straight. I have 4 guitars, and 1 mandolin. I don't play the mandolin much, because of how big my fingers are. For guitar, I play it constantly. I get home from work, I play. I go over to a friends house, I bring along a guitar. I go down to state street, I bring a guitar. I could play granny on mandolin. That actualy would sound nice. hmmm
I'll pull it out and give it a try. look for it on the recording section.

Yes, I am in a box

Oh, I see. It does sound more full with the high e open.
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away

ditto, but if you ask me, its an advantage. hitting stretch chords and never worrying about hitting muting the wrong strings once you get the hang of it

I'm totally naive, but what the hell is WD-40?

its an all-purpose oil/lubricant, its in a spray can and is commonly used on door hinges and bicycle chains, etc etc...
