Help with playing!!!

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

There are probably tons of books to get. Get a chord dictionary, too...

MEL BAY SUCKS. i first started learning out of mel bays basic guitar method and i hated guitar. i'd force myself to practice and would think of all sorts of crap reasons to get out of it. i'd be like oh no, my finger hurts. well i guess i'll have to stop guitar for the next month. but then i started doing stuff i liked adn now i love guitar and nothing could stop me. i think firedancer had the best advice and he's some guitarist and singer. listen to him.

i don't know about mel bay, but yes those beginnere books can get bored really easy, just use them to get the basics, i would never teach one of my students using just a book

You also need a teacher to stay focused once you get past the first or second books in any series.

I have mel bay, got it the first day i had my guitar. Dont know if its the same one you have though. Took one look at it and said screw it.. just looked too boring.

Hey I know these guys may know more than me but most of IMPORTANT YOUB HAVE TO REMEMBER TO GET IN THE HABIT OF TAPPING YOUR FOOT. I know its hard to get use to but you have to force yourself to do it. Believe me its easier to learn this now then it is to learn it later.... I think everyone will agree with me on this
