bbr89 sorry i'll get you that video as soon as i can. i'm real busy in the winter with my regular job and snow plowing, from chicago so... but i promise you"ll get it.
Thestone08 i casn probably tab most of that for you, but gonna take me awhile do, for the same reason above.
For those of you who want tabs please don't expect that i can do them. the "let you down" tim fills, is something ive been wanting for myself for sometime sooooo. im basically doing myself a favor, but thanks to thestone08 he'll push me a little faster.

TheStone08, does it have to be those exact tabs, or any tim "let you down" fills?

hey thestone, im working on "let you down" i should have something ready for you soon. it is a wee bit hard to get reynolds fills down since i could only find one video... but i think ill be pretty accurate with at least the chord shapes that he is using for the fills, kind of like how #41 tim fills are on this site, where he just gives you the chords and you work it out. i will also add in some scales that work with this song... im trying my best, should be pretty soon as long as work and the weather cooperate. :)

"Let You Down" Second guitar part. (Tim Reynolds)

Alright here is a little stab at the chords he is using.... (if they aren't exactly what he is using, they are very close and work just fine within the song)

Code: Select all

I----------------------------------I
I---8---7---2---3---3---(2)--(2)---I
I---9---7---2---0---4---(2)--(4)---I
I---9---7---0---4---4---(0)--(4)---I
I---7---9-------5---2--------(2)---I
I--------------(2)-----------------I
Something close to that, of course Timmy is Timmy and variation is a must. But, that's a pretty good base. Now here are some scales/notes that fit in with the song. If you don't know a whole lot about soloing this will help you for every song, it will just be shifted to the correct key of that song. Anyways, here it is for "Let You Down".

Code: Select all

I---I-x-I---I---I-x-I---I-x-I---I---I-x-I---I-x-I---I-x-I---I---I
I---I---I-x-I---I-x-I---I-x-I---I---I-x-I---I-x-I---I---I-x-I---I
I---I-x-I---I-x-I---I---I-x-I---I-x-I---I-x-I---I---I-x-I---I---I
I---I-x-I---I-x-I---I---I-x-I---I-x-I---I---I-x-I---I-x-I---I---I
I---I-x-I---I---I-x-I---I-x-I---I-x-I---I---I-x-I---I-x-I---I---I
I---I-x-I---I---I-x-I---I-x-I---I---I-x-I---I-x-I---I-x-I---I---I
          3 5 7 9 12 15 <-- Fret Number
The x's in this scale represent the notes that you hit. The song is in a B scale and this is the main scale I use to jam....

Code: Select all

I---------------------------------------------7---10---I
I------------------------------------7---10------------I
I----------------------------7---9---------------------I
I--------------------7---9-----------------------------I
I------------7---9-------------------------------------I
I---7---10---------------------------------------------I
I hope this helps everyone. Here is one more scale, I know this sounds lame, but if you do not know how to solo well this will help you look "cool" and will sound good with the song. This scale runs up and down the fret board. (Makes you look like you know what you are doing even if you don't... "Cool").

Code: Select all

I--------------------------------------------------10---12---14---I
I----------------------------------------10---12------------------I
I---------------------------7---9---11----------------------------I
I-------------------7---9-----------------------------------------I
I-------5---7---9-------------------------------------------------I
I---7-------------------------------------------------------------I
Once again, I really hope this helped everybody out, at least a little bit. If anyone has any questions on these scales or the "Let You Down" chords please let me know. If this is confusing I am sorry and will gladly explain it. Also, if anybody would like a video of me using these chords and scale let me know or if anyone wants a video of anything else. :D

you would be my hero if you could tab this.
it's my favorite instrumental version of anything, ever.

EDIT: just realized this thread is limited to Dave only... It would still be amazing if you could somehow tab this masterpiece. I've actually been able to do some of it on my own after i realized it was in open E tuning. I got the intro he does at the beginning down and the solos, it's just the chords hes doing. So if you get a chance to take a shot at this that would be awesome!
