Palm muting definitely takes some practice. I like it but don't practice it nearly enough. I'm pretty capable muting with my left hand though.

percussive means rhythmic, not aggressive. I wouldn't say SRV was percussive
Sometimes when I reflect on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed. Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn't drink this beer, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. I think, "It is better to drink this beer and let their dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver.

Let's remember back to elementary school when we all learned that percussion instruments are ones that are struck, like drums, cymbals, rhythm sticks, and in Dave's case, his guitar strings.

From Webster.com:

Pronunciation: p&r-'k&-siv
Function: adjective
1 : of or relating to percussion; especially : operative or operated by striking
2 : having powerful impact

For Dave it's probably a combination of aggression and rhythm. Aggressively rhythmic, if you will.
