BILLY WESTOM: the strum pattern you added to the Crash tab is awesome.... it's exactly what's needed for ALL Dave tabs.
Do you have strum-pattern tabs for any other songs? Anyone else?

I haven't done it for any other songs, just because in order to do it correctly, you have to put every strum in there, and usually there can be many strums of one chord. I have one other tab where I lined up the lyrics to the chords in Crush, just because it seems like a lot of people have trouble with where to change chords. That one is under the thread "Massive Crush Questions" somewhere in these boards.Mindsmoke wrote:BILLY WESTOM: the strum pattern you added to the Crash tab is awesome.... it's exactly what's needed for ALL Dave tabs.

BILLY: is there any way describe the typical strum patterns dave uses. like, describe (as you did in Crash) a particular strum pattern and list which songs he uses it in. sounds goofy, but there must be a way to explain many of dave's strum patterns, at least the most used ones, or those that everyone has trouble indentifying.
i think it would add so much to the tabs on this site (and its users) if at least the primary strum pattern were listed with each song's tab. i know it would help me out a lot. whatcha think?

There are ones that are primary, I guess....but he does many different ones. I guess the main one would be: DD D UDU DD DU. Does that help?

strum patterns
yeah. that's the idea. my thinking is that there are probably less than a dozen different strum-patterns that dave uses most of the time. putting together a simple list of these patterns, along with references to the relevent song (like Crash verse, etc.), would help a lot of people. it could even be added to each song's tab, if so inclined. but yeah, i think that's much of what inquiring minds are seeking ... my opinion, though i could be wrong.
