So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Have you guys checked out the new vid on You Tube. I don't have the link handy, but I'm sure you'll find it. Anyway, the chord after X5403X that is posted is X3503X. Try this out. It doesn't look right as far as matching the video (its hard for me to tell what exactly Dave is playing), but this sounds good. I dont have my guitar with me right now so I may be off because i forget stuff easily, but I think it's right.
3 3 3 3 3 3 OK I CHANGED IT FROM 6 TO 7!!!
5 5 5 5 5 5
4 7 4 7 4 7
0 0 0 0 0 0
Repeat the 4 to 7, which is done with the pinky, as needed.

ok i have something quite different for much of that.... I tabbed mine off of the video and it sounds exactly right to me... I'll tab it out and post it soon

this is on a raised D guitar... here's my corrections
Code: Select all
here's the corrections I have.. and I got this from watching the video of Dave so I'm pretty sure it's right
I) Intro:
just the low D strings. because it's on a 12-string it gets that fuller sound, but it's just one pair of strings in the video
d---------------------|---------------|
a---------------------|--3-3----------|
f---------------------|--0-0----7-7-7-|
c---------------------|--4-4----5-5-5-|
g---------------------|--5-5--3-3-3-3-|
D---0--2--3-/5-/7--7--|---------------|
1 2 2 2 2
(verse is the same thing but with the measures reversed...)
IV) Bridge
I don't see Dave changing chords in the middle of it... it's just this the whole way through
d--------
a--3--3--
f--0--0--
c--4--4--
g--5--5--
D--------
V) Outro
AdWolf's tab has a 6 step run to end the song, but it actually has a 7 step run to end it:
d-----------------------
a--------------------3--
f--0--0--0--0--0--0--0--
c--2--0--0--0--0--0--4--
g--3--2--0-----------5--
D-----------3--2--0-----

I changed my previous post. On the X357XX put your fingers at X354XX and hit the 7 with your pinky every other stroke. you can clearly see him doing this in the vid.

i play it exactly how rollmebackagain tabbed it out and that's how i see dave playing it with that change to the 357 and the added open low D on the outro, the only thing i do just a little different, but still the same, is on the intro instead of just the 0 on the low D i do the 03 (Dg) which i think is how dave does it, just to add a little bit more. that's my take on it

the only thing i have in the tab that i don't think dave actually plays is the change in chords during the bridge -- i think he just keeps the root on fret 5 the whole time and lets stefan and butch do the change by themselves.
can anyone re-up that?
