Some guitar riffs Dave has written are truely creative!

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

ah czech, so mean! I didn't know that, pretty interesting actually, but can you really call picking a power chord improv?

i think the WWYS jam is a kickass riff when dave plays it. when i play it, it sucks, but when dave plays it, it is amazing. JTR is another good one. SMTS is cool. R&R, the verse to billies. oh and drive in drive out, the ending riff is simple but cool.

I wouldn't see how you wouldnt consider it improv:

v. im·pro·vised, im·pro·vis·ing, im·pro·vis·es
v. tr.

1. To invent, compose, or perform with little or no preparation.
2. To play or sing (music) extemporaneously, especially by inventing variations on a melody or creating new melodies in accordance with a set progression of chords.
3. To make or provide from available materials: improvised a dinner from what I found in the refrigerator.

v. intr.

1. To invent, compose, or perform something extemporaneously.
2. To improvise music.
3. To make do with whatever materials are at hand.

trust me, its fine. Brian just needs reminding every once in a while he doesnt knwo everythign and should be a dick to people for no reason. and there's no hostility, i was also just having fun with him too. we keed, we keed.

we see what you mean now, and i'd have to say:

The Stone intro/verse
JTR
WWYS whole song
Satelite vegoos intro (i knwo y'all hated it, i thought it was cool)
Granny and Stay (simple but catchy)
Busted Stuff and FTT (most underrated)
#41 and OSW(prettiest guitar riff)
Two Step and Sugar Will (favorite riffs live used to let someone else solo)
Warehouse Stop Time Intro

I think SMTS is a great take on a simple chord progression.

In the last tour I heard Dave improve in LIOG, two step, and Jimi thing, also i think his ending with bayou evolved on stage.

As for the actual post:
The Stone
OSW intro
Fool to Think
Billies Verse
And many more i can't think of now

dave also has a great way of making a simple progression catchy. take the two step chorus for example...the way he plays it is so sweet

Agreed. That is one of the most beautiful guitar parts Dave has created.
