the stone= carpotunnel syndrome for me lol

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

I see, I see, so does anyone else play it the way I do? Anways I think Im gonna post a clip of me playing the Stone soon, just the main riff. Ive found that you can think you play a song perfect cuz you teach yourself it and perfect it a little wrong or something and I wanna make sure I got it down good. But Im really just stalling on this 10 page paper Ive got due Monday that I only have 1.5 pages written of so far. We have to write on gay rights for this diversity class Im in, it fucking sucks but Im gonna get back to that and probably be back on here in 10 minutes when I get bored.

fingers tend to just magicaly do stuff if you play something a few times...kinds' like they (your fingers) break a code and then it is cake...just keep playing it...when it hurts, take a minute rest...no need to really get carpel tunnel (sp?)...just give it some time...the best thing to do is to play along with a cd/mp3 or whatever...things will click not after too long

well, this is my first post here............

I agree with using the 1st, 2nd and 3rd finger for the chord so the pinky can be ready for the riff, just the way I happened to learn it though. Only one person said it so I just had to sign up and defend him!

i think the normal way helps me keep my hand in a perfect position after that chord to lay my hand on the strings for the mutes before the riff starts up again...

I just tried playing it that way, it really is just as easy. I guess when I was learning the song it was harder for me to make that transition fast enough so I learned it my way. But now that I can play the song and Ive gotten better with my left hand either way works just fine.
