Daves guitar action?

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

No that's because he breaks a lot of strings.

D/L the bartender video off jellyfish's website and listen to the insane amount of buzzing with each strum ... it's definitely noticeable.

I've noticed string buzzing on a lot of live recordings of Dave's solo stuff. It doesn't sound bad ... but it is noticeable.

Most strummers like low action ... makes barre chords and such much easier and smoother ... finger pickers usually prefer action a little on the high side.

It will be interesting to here what the crew has to say.
what is jellyfish's website?????????

This question was asked about a long time ago in the musicians gear forum. The answer we got from the road crew was 1/4" at the 12th fret.

According to the Fishman tech, Joe B. said Dave likes his action high. I remember he told me that when he was working on the 'Dave' setup for my Chet
"Come in from the cold for a while
Everything will be alright
Come in from the noise for a time
Everything will be alright..."

Their's one other advantage to having high action. It makes it easier to play slide without nicking the frets and getting a dorky slide tone. I got the action on my old guitar raised to I could mainly slide on it and it paid off handsomely.
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away
