Stay or Leave with capo

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

the real reason is because shorter strings vibrate less amount of times. I believe it sounds better on a raised B guitar because the entire length of the string can still vibrate and have the higher sound that raised B is used for.

You better be playing on a cutaway. I have difficulty capo'ing and reaching around the neck so high up.

it sounds good in theory, then you do it, play the same two songs for 3 days, and say "alright, now what"

true, the only other song I know besides Dave's that is in raised B is Cabron by the Red Hot Chili Peppers

sorry forgot about that thread above, I thought Cabron was raised B but like you guys say, he uses a capo. I wouldn't know what else to do with my extra guitar if I had one. Why not tune it to Raised B, it is probably just going to sit, unlesss you want to sell it.

i like stay or leave with a capo...it sounds pretty good in my opinion... ya really gotta hit the strings at the right time though, and the chorus is a certain tempo..but once you pinpoint that, it sounds great i think

Try to avoid the high e, and even the high b, and the song sounds good to me w a capo on 7. It is easier to play and sing when a capo is in a high position - for me atleast. Mayers 3x5 is another song with a high capo (8) that is awesome, mainly because its in that melodic, dreary, smooth key of Cminor - 'Mmmmm'. Beatles here comes the sun is also pretty high up there. 7 or 9 i believe. Play guitar

peace. tim

Ha ha I'm back on the boards...after a long hiatus and the need to find that funky riff for Lousiana Bayou necessitated a visit. Gotta comment on the SorL capo...

The slighty different voicings from the capo 2 version is slightly annoying. However, I've found its considerably LESS annoying than having to tune my guitar to raised B for one damn song (or two if you count YNK) AND breaking strings from all the "tuning around".

I can live with the capo, hell, it's even grown on me.
