Help with BOWA

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Yeah, now that I haven been listening to it, he makes that 'slapping' sound on a lot of the songs on the rutebegas, but I haven't noticed it on any Dave + Tim stuff...

if he is, what do you do, just slap the strings with your thumb to the the beat?

I don't think so. It sounds like he is just muting and hitting the strings to the beat. Maybe palm muting with right hand? I couldn't imagine him muting all the strings with his left hand in mid-riff while playing those complex rhythms, though he has surprised me before...


EDIT: I meant I don't think so about the finger picking, maybe he is...but still...

Now listening to Neon. I see what you mean. You gotta have some rhythm for that. Guess I will practice BOWA that way really slow until I get it. Any tips? Is he muting? Sounds like Dave is hitting all the strings where it sounds like Mayer is only hitting one?

Mayer is more or less just slapping the bass note. Its just the basic idea of hitting the down beat and fitting a rythm into it. I suggest just slowing it down and making sure you are hitting those notes.

My point is, if you downloaded soulseek, a lot of us have this recording and you could dl it off of us. Instead of us spending time uploading all the songs and sending you links, you could dl a simple little program and get it yourself. Thus saving us work we dont have to do, and you can get the show you want (and have access to 10's of thousands of other songs you might want to dl.)

I have soulseek and I am on it. I'm not a retard. I searched but nothing came up under half of you's (lol) names. YSI'ing takes 3 minutes to do a song at the most. It was a simple request, no reason to get uppity. Jesus.
