Everyone learns in their own way and in their own time. Just cause you "say" you can play the drums and have picked up on counting doesn't mean everyone else has. jeez man

i dont not like anybody i this forum and i dont think i need "breaks" yell at me i dont care just know this:Beauford33 wrote:No, You wont like me at all if I vent.praisedave wrote:i can count but i taught myself how to play guitar and i never played another instrument... i lerned with tabs.. i dont know like what the numbers in the beginning mean or what the different note values are... ill teach myself at some point.Beauford33 wrote:Do you even know how to count music? Im seriously about to rip on you because you are dumb enough to play guitar and not learn how to countpraisedave wrote:not all of us know what a measure is or how to measure it... i cant read sheet music...Beauford33 wrote:ummm, it just changes after every measure. ps. if you're gonna go off like a mother fucker by all means vent in this thread!
I ve given this guy a "break" before, A few months I ago I believe. I think he should have learned in that time. But common, you need to learn how to count before you start to play music. Its an essential.
i have a sense of rythm and i can count but i cant play sheet music soo waht hasnt really gotten in my way yet. Plus most band music (espsecially with piano) just has the chord progressions above the music and lyrics. I can play that too. I think im a very good player especially considering i started less than a year ago. There are no songs i cant play that ive tried to learn outside of stream and classical gas.
BTW what should i have "learned"? that asking questions or admitting any kind of weakness in this forum is like putting your head on the chopping block?

i'm sure he knows how to count. he's just not aware of it because no one has told him that that's what he's doing.Beauford33 wrote:No, You wont like me at all if I vent.praisedave wrote:i can count but i taught myself how to play guitar and i never played another instrument... i lerned with tabs.. i dont know like what the numbers in the beginning mean or what the different note values are... ill teach myself at some point.Beauford33 wrote:Do you even know how to count music? It's really annoying. You can play the guitar just fine without counting.
Oh, and guess what? I don't count. I play by ear. So once again, get over it.

For the most part, my knowledge of rythms allow me to play know when what changes and when. It is when I dont know something, the first thing I do is write it out.

yea, they dont show rythm and note value because it is the responcibilty of the musician to be able to figure it out.praisedave wrote:the tabs on this site arent arranged accoriding to measures or rythm anyways.
