what you play

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Well I don't have as much experience with guitar as some of you guys (only 2 and a half years) but I can play The Stone, Holloween, OSW including intro, Typical Situation, Lie in Our Graves, Dancing Nancies, Let You Down, and #41.

I know bits of some other songs:

Warehouse
Hold Me Down
Stay
So Damn Lucky
Crazy
Seek Up

...and probably some more I can't think of right now.

Thats cause Dave is a one trick pony. If you know ten of his songs your not likely to see anything different after that. I'm not saying all his songs sound similar just that his chord voicings and rhythms are recylced quite often. This holds true for most any arist.

I play all the ones I want to. Nearly all studio and most live. I dont remeber them at all. I have to keep a TAB book and figure out what songs I want to play for this or that. I then just take the tabs out and play them. Then I got them remebred. What pisses me off is when I am at guitar center and I forget all the songs I know so you end up playing the same 5 songs ofr about an hour. Makes you look really bad.

I can play alot of his songs or most of them, I really get bored quite easily, so playing them all the way through is a chore unless Im playing for someone which Ive never done

So you're "That guy" at guitar center that only plays DMB. Don't be that guy dude, don't be that guy. No Stairway.

I think I can only remember 10-15 DMB songs, all the way through, at any given time, I'm like Beauford, I need to have a notebook with me to refresh my memory.

well, I finally give up and go to the TAB book section and just play out of those. Of course, I usually only play the songs I know, so the people are just like, wow, you can sight read like that? and I am like "Yeah"

I know around 40 or so songs of his. I'm normally playing just random songs of his at least an hour a day. The ones that I do know, I know them very very well. Granted I mess up like everyone else, but I don't think that I will ever get through knowing all of his sings, even though I would like to ;-)
