Well, the pattern on the instrument is able to be special ordered, or at least that is the impression I get from the demo video.
Anyone have an idea when these will be available to test out in stores?

Just got an email from Taylor: Taylor unveils its first-ever electric guitar. The music industry's biggest U.S. tradeshow was the scene for one of our most anticipated product launches ever. This past January, the T5 Thinline Fiveway™ made its world debut at Winter NAMM '05 in Anaheim, California before thousands of excited attendees. Those lucky enough to play a T5 had nothing but praise. Several guitar magazine writers said the T5 was the most exciting new instrument at the show this year. One prominent guitar retailer commented that the T5 was one of the most significant innovations in the electric guitar in the last 30 years. At the show, visitors had a chance to demo the T5 and catch live T5 performances from cool artists like Switchfoot, Jason Mraz, and Story of the Year, all of whom were blown away by the new axe. The NAMM show isn't open to the general public, but Taylor Insiders get an exclusive first look at the performances and all the fun, before it hits our website.

This is going to be one of the coolest guitars. Got to play one. on the top of the guitar it has a 5 way selector, where you can go from all acoustic to all electric. The all electric sounds close to a Gibson Les Paul, and when plugged in the all acoustic side sounds like the Taylors. Then you can mix between to get some cool sounds. It is a really cool guitar for playing live. I work for a Taylor dealer, and it looks right now that dealers are supposed to be getting these end of May to the beginging of June. Everyone is really excited about these. This guitar blows the Chet out of the water. The Chet is a real inconsistant guitar, the electronics are not the best, sometimes they work sometimes they dont(which is why Dave changed his) The T5 has a lot better feel than the Chet does also. Here is the price information: The T5 Standard is going to list at $2598 the T5 Standard with Premium Top $3098. The T5 Custom(like Dave is playing) is $2998, and the T5 Custom with Premium Top is $3498. Just take about 25% off of those prices for the sale prices. Just wanted to give everyone the accurate details on these.
