I ripped apart this song for an analysis paper, so i thought id contribute:
those of you having trouble with the song should watch crush on D+T storytellers...it easily has the best hand shots
http://www4.sendthisfile.com/d.jsp?t=iM ... Zamg2tokkJ
the site is somewhat slow considering the file is huge, but its worth it if you haven't watched it.
The hal leonard books are always always always going to be theoretically correct...the notes on the staff are spot on. they use a computer and some music genius' to pick out the notes. however, they put very little consideration into playability, flow, and position. The position or voicing will always be inaccurate. so use the books for solos, but use dmbtabs for daves part.
For the chorus, keep in mind that dave puts a muted strum at every 4 beat, which kind keeps the awkward single guitar honest. I suggest that you stick with dave's fingering; while it isnt incorrect to revoice the chords or play them in 1st, dave's way has an important compliment to the melody line. "...crazy, i'm thinking, just///knowing that the world..." is where dave sings an emphasized m2 (C-->B) drop. If you play around with voicing, you might lose that direct shift or miss it by an octave. Not critical, but it will compliment your voice, and at least for me, help you stay on key

Sometimes when I reflect on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed. Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn't drink this beer, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. I think, "It is better to drink this beer and let their dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver.

Yea my mistake. Sounds best if you just play the F chord.
