So I've made this song my "project" for the rest of the year. I am fine with the speed, but I can't get the 5-5-2-3-2 part to sound quite. I don't know all the technical musical terms, so it is difficult to explain. This part sounds almost as if there are hammer-ons...I know he's not doing any here, but this part has a distinct sound to it. Is he doing anything special here? Is it sound musical device I am not aware about? Or is he just strumming this part in a certain way?

In most of the versions of the song I've heard, Dave either plays the 2 (... 5 5 2 3 2 etc. --the one in red) very lightly or just mutes the D string and plays that muted string instead. So don't focus on hitting that 2 all that much if you want that Dave-feel to it.jacobie423 wrote:So I've made this song my "project" for the rest of the year.
