did a search but couldn't find much on this. i'd like to cover dont drink the water but my bass player doesn't own a 5-string. all the tabs i've found (bass) require the low d. i've tried drop-d tuning his 4-string bass and it sounds crappy and has a hard time holding tune. maybe he has a crappy bass.
anyone have insight on this? can you play ddtw on a 4-string and have it sound good? anyone have a tab?
thanks, and great forum. just joined and sure to be back!

There are only maybe 2 or 3 notes that hit that string and technically you dont have to hit them
