Question for the board....

Question I had on my mind so I thought I'd post and get some insight from the board...

Which position do you most prefer to play in, standing or sitting....and why you prefer that postion...

I've played more sitting because I don't have a strap. But I also really like standing. I guess I don't have a preference.

I prefer sitting down. I can get a better grip on the guitar when sitting down than when I'm standing. I should stand more when i play, though.

Standing...i think its better practice cause the guitar can move all over the place while youre playing, you have to learn to control the intrument.

I mostly play sitting down, but I stihl use my strap so the guitar is always in the same position, standing or sitting.

Same here. I've got my strap soo tight the guitar is nice and snug when i stand up. I usually play sitting down though.

I used to play alot sitting down, but then i got a strap. it really depends on where i am.. i'm much more comfortable sitting and playing... probably cause i'm used to it and have done it more than standing..

hmm, i don't mind standing and playing, it's just difficult for me to stand and play and sing into a microphone. it just takes some geting used to.

It really depends on what kind of mood I'm in. Normally I stand and play and sing into the microphone.

If I'm at a coffee house or somewhere real laid back, I'll play sitting to give a nice, pleasant performance. If I'm at a bar, though, I'll play standing, because they usually want more energy out of you and you can give more energy when you're standing.

Plus standing is easier (for me anyway) when you're nervous. When you're sitting and playing, you can't really move anywhere. When you're standing, you can move around and get the jitters out.

I guess there's pros to both.

I sit. even with a strap, just to make sure i dont have to rely on my right leg to keep the guitar up or get into the habit of squeezing with my right arm
