So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Best Version of Watchtower

Unread post by DMB2718 » Sun Nov 30, 2003 7:12 pm

Just wondering what everyone thinks is the best watchtower Dave has ever done.
I'd deff have to go with the new central park version.
No idea how he didn't have a heart attack on stage and die with some of the lyrics he was pulling.........FIRE!!!!! FIRE!!!!

He said that Dave did , and if you're so sure that you and your roommate did the best one , then post it in the Recording & Critique section ;)

Not sure how to do that. I can record it, I just don't know how to post/host it. If you let me know how to I'll be glad to.

That'd be something to hear.
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away

This is one song that (short of guests) I dont feel changes enough to warrant thinking about a best one. Watchtower has had little tweaks, but theyve all been very minor. I've seen the song live somewhere in the neighborhood of 6 times or so, and each time it was more or less the same.

Having said that, the one from 95 at the Roseland Ballroom with John Popper and Trey gets my vote. I cant even really think of one that stands out other than that.

One of the better Watchtower versions in my opinion is the one he did with that Harmonic guy at Farmaid 2001 , i can't remember his name but i think thats a pretty cool version
