Baritone Tuning

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Baritone Tuning

Unread post by PJ » Mon Nov 04, 2002 1:00 pm

This may have been said before, so if it has please forgive me for being redundant...but on all the baritone tabs the tuning is wrong...A baritone is tuned (from high to low) b,F#,D,A,E,B...so it would look like this:

b--
F#-
D--
A--
E--
B-- etc...

Factory default Barritone tuning is:

Code: Select all

B E A D F# B
But it can also be done as:

Code: Select all

A D G C E A
So i think you got something wrong there , unless you're reading things upside down or are lefthanded

Oy?
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away

A cool variation on Bari tuning is "drop A" tuning. I'll leave that up to your imagination.

also, for 12 strings, they are recommended for a different tuning (forget what), but dave tunes it in standard.

also, guitars are meant to be tuned in standard, but dave does raised be as well.

just there is one tuning for an instrument, and there is another. So, tune it how you like, despite what it comes in from the factory (that's just the recommended tuning).
