Dave's recording guitar
Dave's recording guitar
Does Dave record his studio albums with his DM3MD?
Also, went to the Atlanta show the other night and I thought it was one of the best I have attended. I believe they pulled out Dream Girl for the first time on the tour and the flecktones made it out on stage for awhile ,anyone else make it to Atlanta an Tuesday?

To my knowledge, yes. I haven't heard anything regarding what acoustic he used in studio for Stand Up, so I assume he used the DM3MD, as he did for all previous studio albums since it came out in '99.Taylor410 wrote:Does Dave record his studio albums with his DM3MD?

Seriously, i was dissapointed when i first learned that about the only thing i heard from dave matthews on the studio albums was his voice, but Tim is just such a better guitarist its not even funny.
I really think that the missing element in the last couple of DMB albums has been tim.
They need to bring him back real bad.

Do I listen to pop music because I'm miserable or am I miserable because I listen to pop music?

Are you saying that on BTCS all of the guitar is played by Tim? Wow!RunsWithBuffalo wrote:Seriously, i was dissapointed when i first learned that about the only thing i heard from dave matthews on the studio albums was his voice, but Tim is just such a better guitarist its not even funny.

By the way, I agree that bringing TR back into the recording studio would be an excellent idea!
No, he didn't mean that all of the guitar on BTCS is played by timmy. Dave plays all of the regular parts you would expect. What he meant is that Steve Lillywhite really emphasized Tim Reynolds' fills and licks here and there on not only BTCS, but Crash and UTTAD. Tim's guitar parts really add alot on the studio albums, and I personally have no problem with his guitar overpowering Dave's.

It's also fairly widely believed that Tim dubbed Dave's rhythm parts and Lillywhite mixed the two together, slightly favoring Tim's tracks.jmack wrote:No, he didn't mean that all of the guitar on BTCS is played by timmy.
