Shotgun Intro Tab - 08.16.06

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Shotgun Intro Tab - 08.16.06

Unread post by whirl_it_up » Sun Aug 20, 2006 4:52 pm

this is my first stab at tabbing so, please don't blast me if i got it totally wrong  anyways, i love the little intro Dave played on the 08.16 version of Shotgun. i only play standard tuning so thought i'd have a go at tabbing it.

Code: Select all

Shotgun Intro 08.16.06
Standard Tuning

e--8--8--8--------5---
b--6--5--5--------6---
g---------------------
d--------7--------3--- x 4
a-----------7>>5--5---
e---------------------

*for the 7>5 slide, hit 7 with your second finger and slide it down to 5 for easy positioning of the last chord

e--------------------------------
b--5-5-5-5-4-4-4-4-2-2-2-3-------
g--------------------------------
d--------------------------------
a--------------------------------
e--------------------------------
am not sure bout the last chord for the main part of the intro, tried to get the sound Dave makes on that chord - but what i've got up there is the best i could do so.

let me know what you guys think, or if anyone has a great tab for it, rather than my bad attempt
cheers

Clare~

I was just messing around with this so I thought I would show ya what I have, mine is based off the Capo 5 tap, here is what I have. On the intro/ new verse, its just G, D, Em, F. On the G, I play 3x0033, on the D I play 2x0033 (Not really a D but close...), Em i just play 022000, and F i just bar it 133211, but if you want a more open sound to the F you can play 1x3010. Thats the first new part, the breakdown towards the middle/ end of the song is:

E--------------------
B--------------------
G--------------------
D- ---3-2-0---------
A-----------3-2-0--2
E-------------------3

Then just keep repeating that until he goes into the main little rift and hits the F chord and goes into the song. Just remember that the last time he does that, he stops at the second fret on the A string before going into the rift and the F.
