SHOTGUN TAB

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

SHOTGUN TAB

Unread post by kevinth5 » Fri Jun 23, 2006 11:39 pm

Haven't seen this anywhere so I thought I'd give it a shot. The closest one to this that i saw was the one on dmbtabs.com that was played on the 5th fret in standard tuning.

This is my first attempt at a tab.
Tuning: B E A D F# B - Capo on 3rd Fret

--------------------------------------
------0--------------------------3-----
----2/4--2-----0----------0----x-----
------------4------2---4--------x-----
---------------------------------2-----
-----------------------------3---3-----

--------------------------------------
------0-------------------------------
----2/4--2-----0----------0---2-----
------------4------2---4-------3-----
--------------------------------3-----
-----------------------------1--1-----

--------------------------------------
------0-------------------------3-----
----2/4--2-----0----------0----x-----
------------4------2---4--------2-----
---------------------------------2-----
-----------------------------0---0-----

--------------------------------------
------0-------------------------3-----
----2/4--2-----0----------0----x-----
------------4------2---4-------2-----
-----------------------------3--3-----
--------------------------------------

odd choice for my first tab but i'm pretty sure that's quite accurate. watched the video from 6.10.06 a little bit ago. just listen to the song for the rhythms. i can see why dave hasn't taken this song further...the riff is so addictive, though it would be nice to see it go somewhere else. fun song! hope this helps!

thanks very much. no problem. i had help from pat's tab with the capo on 5th fret of a standard tuning. that gave me the base then i watched the video a little and figured it out from there on the raised b. wanted a more accurate tab. the other one is really good though for those who don't have raised b!

don't get me wrong, i'm glad you did the tab, just pointing out a thread with the other ones, no biggy - even if you've been a member since 2005, welcome to the boards...again :D

Impact of playing on 12-string

Unread post by Geek Rex » Sun Jul 30, 2006 11:17 pm

What impact if any would playing this on a 12-string have? More difficult? I saw in a post on antsmarching.org or someplace that Dave played a 12-string for this song. Was this an oddity? Was this person mistaken?

Mike

Some people just wanna know. :?

Dave always plays it with the 12 string. I think it sounds much better on the 12, it reminds me of something that would have been created during the Lillywhite Sessions.

Yeh it's his new soprano 12 string Veillette Gryphon. Google it, it's a pretty sweet guitar, small though
