So much to say

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

That's what I'm talkin about! :P

None of this pinky-thumb bullshit.
What can I say, I like to keep it simple. I have huge hands, but there's no reason to involve the thumb unless necessary!

i hate to admit this, but i am going to have to agree. i never even thought to try using my ring finger for the slide( i never look at the fingerings just the tabs) and when i tried it, it was smoother and less choppy than ever and it sounded a lot sweeter

Dave's way of using his pinky to slide on the bottom 3 strings is NOT pointless, despite what someone said. It makes it sound smoother, rather than choppy when you use your ring finger

Yeah, I use my ring finger. I have never even noticed that this site says to use the pinky. It makes not difference. As long as you can play it and make it sound good is all that matters. There are several songs were I have adaptations of how Dave plays the song including changing the string were the note is played. Go with what works.

I'm saying there's no room in these forums to be inventive and play dave songs your own way. What kind of "good" guitarist would actually come up with their own way, anyway? If you're not going to play it dave's way, get the fuck out.

lol true dat, TRUE. DAT.

I had another way to play crazy/captain that wasn't on the tab area, but I know I would probably be murdered in my sleep by dave strangling me with guitar strings if I even hinted at the possibility of "another way".
