So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

He always pusses out and goes an octave low...and to be honest its kind of dissapointing. Those are the notes that I go to hear...the ones that give you chills. He cant yell anymore without being hoarse for days, so those have suffered. I always liked the weirdo dynamic sound he had, and I feel that now its pretty much smoothed over. In that process, the songs have lost some life.
i'd agree with that. and i guess that "weirdo dynamic sound" is exactly what some love and others don't. though maybe not as powerful, his voice, now, is capable of singing a broader range of styles. but i prefer the older dark-dave style

god knows it weighs on me...as heavy as stone and a bone-chilling cold

I think its dead sexy.
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away
