A note about Dave's Commercial Videos

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

A note about Dave's Commercial Videos

Unread post by taylordb » Sun Oct 19, 2003 6:31 am

Been reading a few threads elsewhere that used references to some of Dave's "commercial" videos (i.e. the ones that air on MTV and VH1 etc.) to back up arguments as to how Dave plays certain songs.

A word of caution...I have read in more than 3 different interviews that Dave enjoys screwing up the chord changes and fingerings while recording those videos....primarily because they do so many takes while filming....it kind of breaks up the mononteny (SP?) and has becomes somewhat of an inside joke between themselves. Since the audio is dubbed in separately it does not matter.

So I would be careful to use those videos as a reference tool.
