American Baby= America...

Warehouse has been considered to be a the storage place of the soul. Throughout the song the life/spirit/soul goes through different stages and that's an accepted view on what the song is about.

American Baby is talking about everything that America stands for. I forget some of the stuff, but Dave talks about picnics and apple pies. Something along the lines.

(Off Topic) But I love at the end of Weekend on the Rocks when he starts screaming, "You are the American Baby"

It is about a big pink warehouse in C-ville. I think that a friend of his used to either live there or rented it out and had party's that DMB would play.

Dave does reference the Warehouse in Carlottesville but he also has stated that the song is really about nothing. Just a song full of references without a constant theme or one idea. I don't think it's a sdeep as the lyrics could lead you to believe.

Step Into the Light says that the Warehouse dave refers to in the song was a place he stayed at. It was a warehouse converted into an apartment building, and it was pink, hence named the Pink Warehouse (and it's still in C'Ville). The rest of the song is supposidly stuff to do with supersticous stuff and the rest is nonsense. It was originaly called the Burbon song or Anytime We Can Stop.

warehouae really is one fo the songs NO ONE really knopws exactly what its about. (and y no one i mean no one that isnt in or directly in contact with the band).

I have heard 30 variatuions of what its about, and the lamest thing is, during storytellers somebody asked him and right as he was answering teh DAT ran out. So I guess anyone who was there heard dave's explanation, which im sure was just "it's really about nothing, we used to jam at this warehouse, and I wrote this song and needed a name and i thought, 'how aboyut warehouse'." or somethign stupid like that.
