that makes sense, seeing as how i didnt write any of the songs i know how to play, that would explain why i forget them after a while.fatjack wrote:its pretty hard for someone to forget a song they write, its usually personal and something they would never forget even if they didn't play it that oftenpaywad927 wrote:they dont know how to do tabs? it took me all of 3 seconds to figure it out. im sure that they could do it. maybe they just dont want to.Ranting Thespian wrote:Well, timmy has said he doesn't know how to do tabs. I e-mailed fluffy about possibly timmy tabbing stuff. Fluffy has already talked to timmy about it, and he doesn't know how to do tabs, and I guess doesn't have the passion to either. Oh well.
and another thing, i always wondered how dave could remember all of his songs. i always thought he had all his stuff tabbed. but as apps said most people dont tab their own stuff, so i guess thats out the window. after about a month or so of not playing a song i forget how it goes. so how does he remember all of his songs? has he just played them enough times to remember them for all eternity?
Must you torture us Dave?

scatting's fun
. I love doing the scat that Dave does solo for Crush. Also, Dave might record them. Then if he wants to go back, he listens and picks it up. Also, he could go back to the tapes for the album, and just pull out the guitar part. He might also just write down names of chords. Also, he does write down his lyrics, as you can see in the videos of the making of BTCS. I love the comment about "tex".

I own Live At Luther College tab book. The way they have Stream tabbed out is not how Timmy plays it. I can see in the live mpeg I downloaded, that he plays the non improv parts completely differently than in the book. I know he improvs a lot, but parts of the song do stay the same, so he can improv off of that.
Also, I have looked at the UTTAD and the Crash books, and they aren't correct. They come about 70% correct. It took me a while, but I got Typical Situations dead on, and then checked the tab book to see if I should buy it. 70% correct. I then flipped through, and it's not dead on. JKanter is much better

the way they have stream tabbed out is 100% accurate. it is a note for note transcription of the exact things he played that evening, he may be different from every other performance of the song, but for that performance, it is absolutely right.Ranting Thespian wrote:I own Live At Luther College tab book.
