So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Well, actually, I have 2 questions.
1. If I were to tune the guitar (as opposed to using a capo), should I tune my guitar down or up?
2. When I do use my capo on 7, I can't play the first chord during the part when Dave sings 'Remember we used to...' b/c my guitar doesn't have a cut out. Is there an open equivalent to that chord that I could use??
Thanks for your help, whoever you are!

1: You tune up
2:
"Remember we used to..."
Think Gravedigger
B:---8------0-----0--------
F#:---8------1-----0-----3--
D:---9------2-----2-----2--
A:---10-----2-----2-----x--
E:---10-----0-----x-----x--
B:-8-8----------3-3---2-2--
1 4 2
Just play a normal C. x32010 instead of 81010988. =) same chord.
Edit: And that tab looked pretty *beep*:ed up in this font. But you know what i Mean.
Oh and Hello everyone, I'm new here =)

Code: Select all
"Remember we used to..."

B:----8------0-----0--------

D:----9------2-----2-----2--
A:----10-----2-----2-----x--
E:----10-----0-----x-----x--
B:--8-8----------3-3---2-2--
and when tuning up you are gonna have to use completely different strings. they explain it in the FAQ. but remember you CAN NOT TUNE REGULAR STRINGS UP THAT HIGH. you are asking to break your guitar.

dear_joan,
where does your screen name come from? i have a very obscure guess but it'd be weird if i was right...
"Forget about what you are escaping from," he said, quoting an old maxim of Kornblum's. "Reserve your anxiety for what you are escaping to."

this song:
Dear joan
I’ve almost forgotten, the pane in the window
Blue dress in the doorway
Dear joan...

Correct =)
Song is by Tabithas Secret, three members of the band later formed Matchbox 20 (Rob Thomas was the singer of TS at that time).
