yeah we had a Tripping Billies cover contest awhile ago. I think back in February or something. anwyay there was quite a few in the contest and there were a lot of great covers. I don't know who won for sure but I think it was DmbfanJason or Ticohans. Cave had a good one too. and oh yeah and I entered as well. while I was learning billies, it took me quite awhile to get the singing in sync with the playing - especially on the verse. I can't tell you how many hours I've spent playing that song but its a sick amount.borocks wrote:I work on a cover of Billes. I needs a lot work, lot more than I excpected to do... I wasn't much on the boards that time...anyway, I wouldn't have managed to do a good cover. I was really crap last spring, but I improved a lot, because I practised a lot this summer. Practise is the only way to get better!!!

It seems like every comment on this thread is the opposite of my condition. Typical Situation, singing and playing, seems mind-numbingly easy, and I picked up Jimi Thing incredibly fast, too. The hard ones for me to sing and play are What Would You Say and, believe it or not, Where Are You Going. The chord changes just come at an awkward time in the verses.
And in the end, the things we do are just the things we've done -- Corey Taylor, Stonesour
try playing Where are you going w/ a pick instead of fingerpicking. and i don't even know how to play WWYS. never learned it, i don't like it.Guitar One wrote:It seems like every comment on this thread is the opposite of my condition. To be honest, I don't fingerpick it. I don't fingerpick at all, really. But thanks for the assistance.Appsoldier wrote:try playing Where are you going w/ a pick instead of fingerpicking. and i don't even know how to play WWYS. never learned it, i don't like it.Guitar One wrote:It seems like every comment on this thread is the opposite of my condition. I don't like WTWE, don't know, one of the songs I will never learn... pretty much like Mother Father....egyptianrob wrote:Stone, Billies easy. HARD= Sing WTWE and play. Hi by the way. I've been reading these for a while and now just starting to get involved. How cool that there's all these people that play DMB! I picked up the guitar just to play Dave. That's ALL I can play. pretty sad.
Are you an egyptian, have you once been there?
