They only made 234 of them, so it's just a matter of finding one that someone is selling. EBay seems to be the easiest place to find them.

Ricky has one, and how much they go for depends on how much the person wants to sell it for

damn homey!

$2500? I would jump at that.

No, not really.

*checks his pockets*

Any chance you've seen it for.... fourteen dollars, fourty-one cents and some lint?

But seriously though, that seems damn low to me. I've seen 'em go from $3500 - $5500

i think it was like early 2002 when i was looking at guitars and im pretty sure it was Mannys in NYC that said it was $2500 and theyd have to order it. I could be off on that number but i know for sure it was under $3000

Ya, it was that DM3MD that reads "made in puerto rico" right?

perhaps proudmonkey is referring to getting a custom ordered one made to the same specs. When I was looking for a DM3MD I finally gave up out of frustration (and people selling for way too much) and inquired through a dealer how much it would cost to get one made to the same specs (but obviously without dave's sig at the 12th fret) and I was quoted $2400 or $2650 with my sig at the 12th fret. I thought about going for option #2 and sending them a copy of Dave's signature and seeing if they'd do it!!!

I tell everyone I hear searching for a DM3MD this idea, because I think its ridiculous to pay $3500 for a guitar that is basically a dressed up D-35. I say who cares whether it has Dave's sig??? I actually think it would be cool to have one with MY signature on it. It's the same guitar, NEW, and will save you a grand. It seems however, that everyone is intent on having one of the original 234. Just something to ponder.
