I think I've got the first part down, before the song picks up. Dave is playing......nothing. That's odd. I never noticed that before. He's fretting chords, but he's clearly not playing them.

After the song picks up, he plays something but you can tell much. Here's one version that seems helpful, and it's from the 3/14/99 show:

yes he did, but thats because it would've sounded extremely empty with just 2 lead guitars playing. if you notice in the video, there are about 17 people on stage so he can get away without playing anything.
