Unusual question

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Unusual question

Unread post by dmb_josh » Sun Nov 13, 2005 5:44 pm

Does anyone know of a way or if it is even possible to take a DMB song, and filter the guitar out of it so that one could play along with the rest of the band as the only guitar player? I think it would be a great way to play the guitar part of a song without having to compete with Dave. Trying to play along with or over has been problematic soundwise for me.

Any thoughts?

im sure there are ways of doing this with complex editing software and skill,
what ive always wondered is....... every other band has studio made backing tracks for there songs,
i have look countless times to no avail to find any (except a very bad space between one),
maby everyone on the site should chip in 10 bucks and we get some session musicians to make them,........or why dont the countless tribute bands record a track without the vocals or guitar.?
Gervais on Rosa Parks "she was arrested but then that law was changed- but she didnt stop there, she started sitting in the seats saved for disabled people. unbelavable, she talked to the driver when the bus was in motion- did she have the correct change ready? - did she bollox!"

There are several cd players and editing programs that let you do that. I think I can do it on my Cakewalk Guitar Tracks Pro, but I couldnt tell you how to do it.
