So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

This version sounds like he is trying to make it a swing dance number. The song isn't totally butchered, because it sounds like if he plays it that way the full band carter might have a chance to go ape.

Its a bitch to play it that way too. It took me almost a year to train my brain to the standard rhythm and sing along with it; to play it the new way I have to move my fingers extraordinarily fast to keep up.

It is a novelty, but I think I'll take the old version any day.

What I often wonder is where and who (other than producers and critics) Dave gets feedback about his songs from? Like if a song really sucks, who close to him will be the first to speak up?

i mean i like the new funky style, but doesn't anyone else think that the chorus sounds like shit when he tries to sing along with it?

Dave used alternate picking instead of all downpicks. You gotta give it to the guy... he's been playing that song for 10+ years - mixing it up keeps him from going crazy.

yea nothing wrong with trying something new. I thought it was cool to hear a different satellite then what we've been hearing forever. It's not like this satellite is going to take over or something. It was just something fun to do. Haven't you ever taken a song u play and play it a different way? I know I've done that I played like this one song I know with like slides and made it sound like a country song just for fun.
