Warehouse!

I was in new york city two weeks ago and i thought it was the appropriate time to buy the Central Park cd (for almost half the price). First of all, the many jams on this show totally kick ass ... during/after two steps or after jimi thing and others.

but again, warehouse sounds just great. I've been trying to play dave's riff for a long while. I have no problem with the chords and I have lots of fun playing it but I can't seem to get the strumming right the intro and verse riff ... I was wondering if I could get some help from you guys.

i used the videos that go along with the tab on this website... they helped me out alot to figure out the strumming pattern.. and im in no wayy an expert guitarist

What I do that always helps for that song is a fill a bowl up and get bombed..that usually helps.

I have a hard time muting the strings when you scale back up, but like I said, listen a lot and practice it after that a lot.

exactly. i think one of the main things that's helped me learn these songs so fast is that i had been listening to them long before i started playing guitar. so i had the guitar parts memorized in my head before i even tried to play it. AND IT HELPS!!

yeah i've been listening to it a lot ... and that's how i got the main idea for the riff ... but when i listened to the central park show, i hear very clearly the 7 on the G string ... i can't get a sound close to that one when i play it fast ... but yeah, i'll listen to it again and again!!

Exactly my problem too, I have a tough time muting when I scale back up but I dont really think it even sounds that bad so I havent really practiced to mute it better.

Once I got a few Dave songs under my belt, the rhythm came to me every time I would begin to learn a new Dave song. It just all of a sudden clicked and my strumming just flowed so good. Then it just came down to the matter of just practicing the tabs. But like everyone says just listen to him play over and over. I think a good help is listen to just Dave and Tim and what is even better if you can find any audio or video files of him playing solo. Just listen to him to the point where your sick of it and maybe it will just click for you like it did for me.
