help on jimi thing...part with the 9's and 11's

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

yeah, after that second hammer on, right before the slide, hold that xx999x a little longer, then slide down to the A chord

Jimi Thing is one of those songs that will just come to you someday. Give it a break for a day or so then give it another shot after listening to it.

keep your right hand stumming consistantly. even if you have to strum air for a pause, it helps a lot with keeping timing.

Dude, it's pretty simple once you actually get it to work.

When you play the second part of the 9's and 11's, double hit the 9 after the hammer-on 11 on the D-string and then and then hit the 11 on the A-string for the slide down to the chord A ... You can't see it on Pat's video but it's there ... Someone will tell me I'm wrong but it sounds right and the timing is there ...

jimi really isn't much different from any other dave song. they all have a destinct feel to them. like so much to say or wwys, there's a groove to it. i def. suggest taking a break for a atleast 2 days and focus on another song and then before trying jimi again watch a vid of it, maybe L.S. or a d&t.
your playing sounds almost perfect and i'm sure you can tell that you're just a bit off. I believe your missing a mute right after the hammeron from 9 to 11 on the A string. Give it a try, its bound to work :D
