does anyone know what dave plays in the jam while carlos santana does his thing, i got an mp3. and love it, wanted to know if anyone knows how to play it, thanks alot

thats what i was thinking, i thought they made it up, i tried searching for other bands who played it and read the lyrics all the stole is the whos that writing john the revelator wrote the book of the seven seas, maybe im mistaken, anyone know for sure

The name John The Revelator is taken from that line(obviously). From what I understand it's a very, very old song that doesn't really have an original artist(I could be wrong...please feel free to correct me). Well, a lot of artists have covered the song and used that line throughout. It's the only common denominator between all the songs. The rest of the song's lyrics and all of the songs guitar riffs are all unique to DMB's version.
