-Taylor W65 12-String
-Taylor 714
-Taylor 914c
-Jerry Jones Baritone
-Modulus Genesis Three SH

Those are the guitars in standard use. The Taylor 914c is used in full-band scenarios for all standard-tuned and drop-d songs (he has 3 of them, so monk tunes one to drop-d if they're playing a drop-d song). The Taylor 714 is tuned to Raised B and is used on songs such as You Never Know or Stay or Leave. The Taylor W65 is played on 12-string songs such as Grey Street and JTR. The Jerry Jones Baritone is played on songs that are in Baritone tuning (many Everyday songs - Space Between, So Right, What You Are, etc.). The Modulus electric is played on standard-tuned songs requiring electric, like I Did It. And the DM3MD is played during more intimate settings, usually on Dave & Tim tours, and it is his main studio guitar recorded on albums after 1999 (although he did play it during the 2003 Dave + Friends tour).

I Did it is acutally a baritone song. He used to use the modulus on Fool To think, but now I believe he just uses the 914.

A couple questions:

I thought Dave was using an acoustic on Space Between.
Is he using an acoustic on Rapunzel?
Stupid question: What is baritone tuning?
Is the 12 string only used on Grey Street and JTR? Bartender used to be in this category, correct?
Are all the Stand Up songs being done on acoustic, the 914c?

Thanks for the info bbatsell!

Baritone tuning is an octave lower than raised B. Though you cant get to it without having a baritone guitar.

1. No, in the video he plays an acoustic just for looks, but in reality he plays his Jerry Jones Electric Baritone
2. Yes
3. from low to high B E A d F# B, or 3 and 1/2 steps lower than standard tuning
4. No the 12 string is used on Grey Street, JTR, Bartender, Raven, Big Eyed Fish, Kit Kat Jam, was used in the recording of Everyday, So Damn Lucky, Monkey Man, and Sweet Up and down I believe. Live however he uses a six string for Everyday and SDL.
5. No, dave used several different gutiars for this album. A few can be seen on the album website's videos.

Thanks guys,

There are still some songs I am unsure about. Namely, If I Had It All, Drive In Drive Out and Smooth Rider. Also, I know Last Stop is tuned differently, so I am unsure if he us using the 714c on it.

Can you guys glance over the list and check for any changes that need to be made.

Thanks a lot. I hope this thread is helping more than just myself...

Smooth Rider is the 914c and so is DIDO. Not sure about Last Stop although I have seen him play it before...

Whoop, sorry about that.

Last Stop is a 914c tuned a half-step down.

Thanks again guys. A couple more:

What songs currently use the Modulus?
Is Bayou being done mostly in acoustic or electric?
Has the 12 string been used on Bartender this year?

Thanks!
