With all the young ones on this site it may be a good idea to have another chat room devoted to coping with the complex metamorphosises of puberty.

Haha, that was quite funny Tomami, but I don't quite think I'd need that, seeing as 1st off I have health classes.. 2nd off i'm already through puberty, so if somethin goes wrong, was probably my fault

I am a very old and decrepit 28 year old that has only been playing guitar for about 4 months....and I appreciate all of the advice you "young wipper-snappers" give to me ( oh, I forgot where I left my plectrum again)

I used to be with it, but then they changed what 'it' was. Now, what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me.

Age does not really mean anything when it comes to music (thank God). Allot of Dave's musical influences, particularly the ones from South Africa, were way older than him. It's the groove that counts.
I would not consider myself an ex-deadhead (or current one either)...I did really like their live stuff...saw them 3 or 4 times in the early 70's (I say 3 or 4 because I don't really remember one of them

)
I loved the way they could take a song and just go off in some direction and totally improvise for sometimes up to an hour...and have it sound really good. Now I admit that sometimes it ended up sounding like crap..they were like all of us...when your on, your on.
Bella Fleck (and his buddys) is about the only person I can think of that can improvise at that level.

True. Sorry to leave him out. But the reason I singled out Bella is that his stuff seems so...."right on" (for lack of a better phrase). And he has improved with such a wide variety of artists of different genres from jazz to clasical to blues to bluegrass to polka music for crying out loud...and it all sounds..."right on"

You're only as strong as the tables you dance on.
