Hmm..

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

I was looking at the space between on the mtv music awards or whatever it was, and i noticed that dave plays it different then what the tab shows(for baritone) he plays:
D5 then moves his index finger to he 4th fret, then takes his index off and plays 7x7.. anyone else see this?

Are you maybe talking about this?

No, not talking about that.. its the verse riff (its played D then d with C# bass note(i beleive) then B# bass note) but if you watch him play it he plays it 2 fingered power chord D5, then 4-7(on a and d) then 7x7
download the space between on mtv music awards and you'll see what I mean..

It's funny you should mention this. Dave played that part(Verse) almost completly different at the Video Awards. It's a wierd situation. I believe it was only the 2nd time he played Space Between live EVER. I think he was nervous about the whole performance. It was also heavily dubbed becuase it was an awards show......so all he needed in there were mostly hte bass notes. They also had someone else on backup playing guitar(from what I believe) that did the high notes that we play.....9-10-9(G-B-e strings). Dave didn't need to do the high notes so he wanted to make sure not to miss a beat on the pinky stretch. You could tell he wasn't as comfortable playing those songs as he was...say....Crashing the Quarter of 10 Spot. He seemed nervous performing Space Between and I Did It......NO movement...not even a little dancing for IDI....Was a whole different feel....

I think that explains the whole situation. It was the only time he has ever played that live and I don't think that it warrants being on the site. Of course it could :)

Space Between is a good mellow song, only reason I don't like everyday cd is cause almost all songs were played baritone.. :(

i think dave was pretty pissed at the time, too, since there were rumors of technical problems and having to do it over and over and over, which is what kanter said about it being heavily dubbed.

Yea, I bet he was pretty pissed if there were technical problems.. it sounds just a lot bassier.. so eh, either way is fine for me, 2 guitarists playing the 2 different things at once would sound cool.. :)

Yeah, he was pretty pissed. Halfway through the song the first time, Dave stopped cuz his guitar was out of tune. Then the next time the mics or amps were fucked up so it took a few takes.

i'm down with Everyday except that i can't play half of them, due to the baritone(as DMBFan63 said) The Space Between was my wedding song, its an awesome fucking song.
