Jam Song Suggestions

Unread post by gitarCASE » Thu May 12, 2005 2:37 pm

Me and my cuz are playin a semi-concert thing i guess you could say. We decided to play some dave songs. Lie in our graves and when the world ends were our first two choices, but we need a third song particularly a jam out one. Any suggestions would be appreciated

All along the watchtower is my top pick so far...

Two Step
Jimi Thing
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away

I'd recommend Jimi Thing. You can do a lot a lot in the mid jam playing back in forth between the A and E chords. If you're familiar with the pentatonic scale you can go apeshit for hours. You can do this again at the end do if you don't tack on WWBOM.

Also, check out Clapton's Before You Accuse Me. My buddy and I always slide this somewhere into the song, usually in the middle, and its gotten a good crowd response.

And by crowd I mean my mom....
If you want to be the popular one at a party, here's a good thing to do: Go up to some people who are talking and laughing and say, "Well, technically that's illegal." It might fit in with what somebody just said. And even if it doesn't, so what, I hate this stupid party.

Warehouse is definitely one of my favs to jam out to. The cool thing about warehouse at the end when he is doing the B-E-F#-E you can do Wild Thing or Louie Louie which has the same baisc I IV V IV pattern.

Lie in Our Graves is another good one with 2 different jams in there.

JTR is a cool one too.
