on the part where it goes

B:----------
G:-1-----1--
D:-2-----2--
A:-2-----2--
E:-0-----4--
1 2 1 4

what is the correct fingering for the second chord there, do you just play it like an E and put your pinky way over on the 4th fret of E string?

I'm 99.9% sure you play the normal E chord and hit the G# (4th fret E string) with your pinky like you said. If you get your hands on the concert video listener supported it gives you a pretty good view of dave's fingers.

You are right its just putting the pinky down.. it takes a bit to get it down, but once you get it, its an easy stretch..

that's the boards! welcome dude. and yea, that stretch is tough shit. just keep trying it. or if its way too tough start with the grave digger one. make an a minor then put your pinky on the third fret (low E string). that's a little easier, and it puts you in the line to get the jimi thing!

One thing you could try is too play 4221-- as 422---. The stretch is not needed, and if you emphasize the bass note (4)22--- there will not be much of a difference. You can try that untill you can make the full stretch.

instead of:

Code: Select all

e--0----0----
b--0----0----
g--1----1----
d--2----2----
a--2----2----
e--0----4----
you can try:

Code: Select all

e--0----0----
b--0----0----
g--4----4----
d--2----2----
a--2----2----
e--0----4----

Personally, I find it extremely easy to make that stretch and have a full sound just like on jimi thing and spoon...
