Dave themes

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Dave themes

Unread post by Chumpnet » Fri Dec 06, 2002 6:05 am

Dave likes to revisit some common themes in his lyrics. Which themes can you think of? It would be interesting to hear about some themes that I never realized or interpreted in a different way. A common theme would be one that is covered somehow in at least 2 songs. Perhaps there's a theme that Dave has really hit hard, I haven't really given it a lot of thought.

I'll just list a few to give examples.

"Carpe Diem" - Pig, Lie in our Graves

The "I love women" theme is pretty big so I think it can be split up:

"Let's get it on" - Say Goodbye, Lover Lay down
"Gotta be by your side" - Where are you going, When the world ends, Stay

I don't want to hog them so I'll stop here. Some songs will fit in multiple themes. Feel free to generalize and stretch things a bit, no need to over analyze things.

wrong, it was based on the book "animal farm" by george orwell. He took the last line from the book and turned that into the song

I'd tend to agree with the CD booklet over the tab books that can't even get dave's guitar parts right...I don't htink the cd book would've skipped animal farm if dave really refernced it, I think the book is just trying to be witty...
