----2-------
----3-------
----4-------
----4-------
----2-------

only 4 of my fingers can get into this position and i can't use my thumb since there's no low e goin on there, so can someone tell me how i play this chord?

using your index finger you have to bar the second fret then your middle finger plays the 3 and your pinky and ring finger play the 4's

its a standard barre chord, theyre tricky at first, but do like Gianni said and lay your index across all of the strings then have your other fingers cover the rest. If you dont get the high e I really wouldnt worry about it, I dont even know if I get it all the time, you cant really hear the difference anyway.

yeah, bar chords are crucial to learning the guitar. With some practice, you will be on your way. They may be a little difficult at first, but once you get good at moving bar chords, you will be able to play alot of songs.

i still have problems with chords like X13331 but the normal bar chord formation will come naturally with practice

I've been playing for over a year now (i know thats not very long) and i still pause sometimes when coming to a barre chord. they are essential in playing guitar though. also if you "roll" your index fringer to the side a little it helps as well. does that make sence?

when I play x13331 or chords like it, I just screw over the high E, and just use my ring finger to barre the 3rd fret
Yes, I am in a box

x13331 is just as difficult as regular barre chords. It just takes time to get them right. I think its just that once you get the standard ones your sick of learning them so you slack on the rest. But just keep playing them and they will come natural.
And im almost positive x13331 is a Bb.
