tripping billies

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

then I watched a vid of Dave playing billies.
then I realized I didn't have it.
then I remembered I suck.
Watching Dave play the guitar is discouraging. Especially how his hands flow.

I don't find it discouraging at all. I love to put on a dvd or bring up an mpeg and just play along.

Now, watching Tim play, THAT's discouraging, lol.

Right hand is constant downstrokes. The rythm is really easy I think (for the verse) but the left hand stuff sucks. What helped me was learning the "nature intro". After I got that down, it sort of clicked. Sort of, because it still took me a long time.

After months of working on this part of the song I finally got it down. I play one note differently to make the transition for my short stubby fingers easier. Instead of playing the C on the E string I play it on on the A string.

Yeah, but I'm pretty sure Dave does some up/downstrokes on the last chord of the 1st half of the verse riff...if that makes any sense.
